Owner, Speedway Shelters · Soquel, California

I run Speedway Shelters and I write the motorcycle storage guides on this site. When a guide tells you how to winterize a bike, park a trike outside all winter or anchor a shelter to a driveway, that's me.

About Joshua

Speedway Shelters has sold portable motorcycle shelters for more than 18 years. I took the business over in November 2023 and run it with my family. Most of the people we sell to ride motorcycles and trikes, and plenty of them have a garage that's already full.

I've worked for myself since I was 20 and have spent close to 20 years running small businesses in California. I also run Santa Cruz Salmon, a commercial salmon fishing business.

What I write about

Storing a motorcycle outside without a garage, winterizing and the spring wake-up, shelters vs. covers vs. sheds, HOA and apartment rules, trikes, and the odd golf cart or riding mower. The questions usually come straight from customer emails.

How these guides are written and checked

  • Our own specs. Shelter sizes, weights and snow ratings come from our spec sheets and product pages.
  • The maker's word for other brands. For products like STA-BIL, 303 or Victron, the claims come from the maker's own instructions, and the guide says so.
  • Real customers. Customer photos and stories come from Speedway owners.
  • Dated and corrected. Every guide shows when it was last updated. Spot a mistake? Email info@speedwayshelters.com and we'll fix it.
  • We sell what we link. The shelters and storage accessories in these guides are ours to sell, and we link to them.
