Who We Are
Speedway Shelters is a small, family-owned business based in Soquel, California. We design and sell portable motorcycle shelters, covers, and accessories, and we ship them across the USA and Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through speedwayshelters.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. "We," "us," and "our" mean Speedway Shelters.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, we collect your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, and phone number. If you create an account, we also keep your login details and order history. When you email or call us, fill out our contact or dealer form, or sign up for emails or texts, we collect what you share, such as your name, email address, phone number, and message.
Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal, which collect your card or PayPal details directly. If you choose to pay over time with Affirm, Affirm collects the information it needs to review your application. We get confirmation that your payment went through, not your full card number.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we and our partners collect some information automatically using cookies, pixels, and similar tools. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the products you look at or add to your cart, the site or ad that brought you here, and your general location (such as your city or region, based on your IP address).
Information from partners. Our payment, shipping, and advertising partners may send us information such as payment status, delivery updates, or whether someone who saw one of our ads later visited our site or placed an order.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Process, ship, and track your order, and send order and shipping updates
• Answer your questions and handle warranty claims and returns
• Prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and keep our site secure
• Understand how people use our site so we can make it better
• Send marketing emails or texts, if you've signed up for them
• Show our ads to people who have visited our site (see Cookies and Tracking below)
• Meet our legal obligations, including tax and accounting rules
Who We Share It With
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run our business, and only what they need to do their job:
• Payments: Stripe and PayPal, plus Affirm if you choose to pay over time
• Shipping: our shipping software and carriers like UPS, which need your name, address, and phone number to deliver your order
• Email and texts: Klaviyo, which sends our order follow-ups, newsletters, and text messages
• Analytics and advertising: Google (including Google Analytics and Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
• Website and security: our web host Kinsta, Cloudflare (which checks our forms for spam bots), and security tools that block attacks on the site
• Videos: YouTube and Vimeo, when you play a video embedded on our site
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.
Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small files your browser stores when you visit a website. We use them for four reasons:
• Essential: to keep items in your cart, run checkout, keep you logged in, and protect our forms from spam. The site won't work properly without these.
• Analytics: Google Analytics shows us which pages are popular and how visitors find us. We look at this information in aggregate.
• Advertising: Google and Meta tags remember that you visited, so our ads can appear later on Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, and so we can tell whether an ad led to a sale. When you order, our site may also send Meta limited purchase details, such as the order value, with your email address or phone number hashed (scrambled) first.
• Email and text personalization: if you've signed up or ordered before, Klaviyo can connect your visits to your profile, for example to remind you about items left in your cart.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies will break the cart and checkout. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center and in your Meta ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. The Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative offer opt-out tools too.
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for responding to it, so our site doesn't currently change how it works when it receives one. The choices above still work.
Emails
Order emails. When you order, we email your receipt and order updates, plus a few follow-ups to help you set up and care for your shelter.
Marketing emails. If you sign up on our site, we'll send the Bike of the Week, storage tips, and news about our sales, including Big Sale alerts. If you start checkout but don't finish, or your payment doesn't go through, we may also email you a reminder or an offer to help.
You can unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every marketing email, or by emailing us. Even after you unsubscribe, we'll still send emails about orders you've placed.
Text Messages
If you opt in to texts from Speedway Shelters, we'll send messages about sales (including our Big Sales), storage tips, and sometimes updates about your order. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Signing up for texts is never required to buy anything.
We don't sell or share your mobile number or text opt-in information with third parties for their marketing. We share it only with the service providers that help us send messages, like Klaviyo and wireless carriers. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone else.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep order records, like your name, address, and what you bought, for as long as we need them for warranty claims, returns, and taxes. Because our frame warranty lasts 10 years, we may keep order records at least that long. We keep your marketing contact details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics tools keep their data according to their own retention settings. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
How We Protect Information
Every page on our site uses HTTPS encryption. Card payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal, so your full card number never touches our servers. Only the people who need customer information to help you can access it, and our site is protected by firewalls and security monitoring. No website can be 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we'll notify you if a breach affects your personal information, as the law requires.
Your Choices and Rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
• Tell you what personal information we have about you, and send you a copy
• Correct information that's wrong
• Delete your information, unless we need to keep it (for example, order records for taxes or your warranty)
• Stop sending you marketing emails or texts
To make a request, email info@speedwayshelters.com with the subject "Privacy request." We may need to confirm it's really you, usually by checking the email address on your order. We'll respond within 30 days, and we'll never treat you differently for asking. Some states and countries give residents additional privacy rights, and we'll honor them where they apply. If you have an account, you can also update your details anytime in My Account.
Children's Privacy
Our site is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Visitors Outside the United States
We're based in the United States. If you visit from Canada or another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, and possibly other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws there may be different from those where you live.
Links to Other Sites
Our site links to other websites, like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and our affiliate program on GoAffPro. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for how they handle your information. If you join our affiliate program, GoAffPro manages your affiliate account under its own privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change, and the date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If we make a significant change to how we use personal information you've already given us, we'll let you know by email or with a notice on our site.
