Loose straps end up in a tangle on the trailer floor. CargoBuckle’s retractable tie-downs fix that. Pull out the strap, hook it, ratchet it down, and when you unhook, the six feet of web winds itself back into the housing. Nothing to coil up or lose in the bed.
Which size?
1″ x 72″ bolt-on (Mini G3): mounts with one bolt on a trailer, toy hauler, truck bed, ladder rack, rack or lift. 1″ polyester web for lighter gear.
1″ x 72″ with S-hooks (Mini G3): no bolts and no drilling. A vinyl-coated S-hook with a keeper on the housing hooks onto an anchor point, so you can move it between the truck, the trailer and the garage. Break strength 1,400 lbs, safe working load 466 lbs per strap.
2″ x 72″ bolt-on (G3): the heavy one, for bigger gear and more of it. Permanent one-bolt install. Break strength 3,500 lbs, safe working load about 1,167 lbs per strap.
Six feet of self-retracting polyester web.
Anti-corrosive construction.
Dual safety lock.
Sold as a pair.
Plan where the bolt-on ones go before you drill. Line them up with where your load actually sits. Rather move them around? CargoBuckle’s optional adapters, like the E-Track Adapter Strap, let you mount them without a permanent bolt.
Know the numbers. Use the safe working load, not the break strength, when you figure how many straps a load needs. The 1″ straps are meant for gear and lighter loads. For the bike itself, go by the rated working load on whatever straps you use.
What’s the difference between the CargoBuckle G3 and Mini G3? Web width. The Mini G3 uses 1-inch polyester web, the G3 uses 2-inch. Both have 6 feet of self-retracting strap, dual safety locks and anti-corrosive construction.
Do I need to bolt a CargoBuckle down? Not the S-hook version. It has a vinyl-coated S-hook with a keeper, so you hook it to an anchor point and go. The bolt-on versions mount with one bolt, or with an adapter like the E-Track Adapter Strap if you don’t want a permanent mount.
What is the safe working load of a CargoBuckle G3? 466 lbs per strap on the 1-inch Mini G3 with S-hooks, and about 1,167 lbs per strap on the 2-inch G3. Plan around those numbers, not the 1,400 lb and 3,500 lb break strengths.
