Tired of wrestling a flimsy motorcycle cover? A Speedway Shelter is a waterproof, lockable clamshell cover on a 16-gauge steel frame. Ride in with hot pipes, roll the cover down, and walk away. Nothing touches your paint.
✓ Ride in with hot pipes ✓ Holds 150+ lbs of snow ✓ 10-year frame warranty
Outdoor motorcycle storage
Where your bike sleeps decides how long its paint, seat, and chrome last. Here's the honest rundown on the four ways riders store a motorcycle, and why so many switch from a bike cover to a shelter.
The worst option
It costs nothing up front, but the weather goes to work on your bike every single day.
✕ Sun fades paint and cracks seats and grips
✕ Rain and condensation bring rust and corrosion
✕ Sap, bird droppings, and falling debris
✕ An easy target for thieves
A pain, and it scratches
Better than nothing, but you fight it every time you ride.
✕ Wait for hot pipes to cool, or the cover can melt
✕ Wrestle it on and off every ride
✕ Flaps in the wind and grinds grit into your paint
✕ Traps moisture, blows off, and is hard to lock
Easy, and fully protected
A waterproof cover on a steel frame. Ride in, roll the cover down, and walk away.
✓ Park with hot pipes, no cool-down wait
✓ The frame holds the cover off your paint
✓ Waterproof, UV-coated, holds 150+ lbs of snow
✓ Lockable, and sets up in about 30 minutes
Great, if you have one
The gold standard for protection, as long as you have the room to spare.
✓ Full protection from weather and theft
✕ Takes up space your car, tools, and projects need
✕ Not an option for many renters and apartments
✕ Building one is expensive and permanent

HOAs, mobile home parks & apartments
A Speedway Shelter doesn't need a foundation. Mount it on a simple wooden platform instead of drilling into concrete, and the whole setup stays portable. That makes it a practical fit for HOA homes, mobile home parks, and apartment or condo parking spaces where a shed or garage isn't an option.
✓ Nothing bolted into ground you don't own
✓ Unbolt it and take it with you when you move
✓ A level, dry floor on grass, gravel, or pavement
✓ All three sizes fit a typical 9 × 18 ft parking space
Rules vary, so check with your HOA, park, or landlord before you set up.
Features & benefits
We designed the Speedway Shelter from a rider's point of view: easy enough to use every ride, and as tough as we could make it. We've been covering motorcycles in North America for over 18 years, and some of our shelters have lasted as long as we have.
The roll-top clamshell cover lifts by hand. Ride in, roll it down, and you're done. The cover sits on the frame, clear of your exhaust, so there's no cool-down wait.
3/4" square-tube, 16-gauge steel with a double powder coat against rust. It holds 150+ lbs of snow and protects your bike from falling branches, debris, and cars backing into it.
600D polyester with a 2,500 mm urethane coating sheds the heaviest rain, and built-in UV protection keeps your paint, seat, and plastics from fading.
Every interior seam is taped, the same way four-season tents are made, so water and dust can't wick through the stitching.
Locking hardware is welded to the frame, so you can padlock the cover closed. Bring your favorite lock (not included).
Rubber-grip handles on both sides make the cover easy to lift and lower from either side of the bike.
Large vent windows let air move through to fight condensation. Close them with the hook-and-loop flaps when the weather turns.
Anchor bolts for concrete or asphalt come in the box (6 for Sport and Touring, 8 for Deluxe), plus side tie-downs for high winds. A sewn-in skirt seals the bottom edge against blowing rain and dust.
Add a high-density rubber floor cut to your shelter size. It handles kickstands, keeps oil off your driveway, and cuts condensation from the ground.

Motorcycle cover FAQ
Can you put a motorcycle cover on a hot bike?
Not a regular fabric cover. A cover that drapes over the bike touches the exhaust, and hot pipes can melt or scorch it, so you have to wait for the bike to cool down. A Speedway Shelter's cover sits on a steel frame, clear of the exhaust, so you can ride in with hot pipes and close it right away.
Do motorcycle covers scratch paint?
They can. A fabric cover rests right on the bike, and when the wind moves it, dust and grit underneath act like sandpaper on paint, chrome, and windshields. In a Speedway Shelter the frame holds the cover off the bike, so nothing rubs your finish.
What should I look for in a heavy-duty motorcycle cover?
Look for waterproof, UV-resistant fabric with taped seams, vents that let moisture out, a way to lock it, and anchor points so it stays put in the wind. A frame that keeps the fabric off the bike is the biggest upgrade, because it protects the paint and lets you cover the bike while it's still hot. See the benefits of a clamshell motorcycle cover.
Why do motorcycle covers blow off in the wind?
A fabric cover is held on only by its fit and maybe a strap, so a strong gust can lift it like a sail. The Speedway Shelter bolts to concrete, asphalt, or a wooden base with the included anchor bolts, and its side tie-downs secure it in high winds.
How do I stop condensation under a motorcycle cover?
Moisture gets trapped when a cover can't breathe or sits right on the bike. The Speedway Shelter has large vent windows, and its frame leaves an air gap around the bike. A rubber shelter floor also cuts condensation coming up from concrete.
Is a motorcycle shelter a good alternative to a garage?
Yes, for most riders. A shelter gives your bike its own lockable, weatherproof space outside, so your garage stays free for the car and tools, and it works for renters and homes without a garage. It sets up in about 30 minutes, and you can take it with you when you move. Here's how to set one up in an HOA, mobile home park, or apartment.
