Winter Storage Kit

Getting ready to winterize your motorcycle? This kit covers the four jobs we’d do before walking away from a bike for a few months: stabilize the fuel, protect the vinyl and plastic, keep the air dry, and clean up any mildew.

What’s in the kit

• STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer, 10 oz. Keeps gas fresh for up to 24 months in storage. 1 oz treats 2.5 gallons, so the bottle covers 25 gallons. Add it to fresh fuel, fill the tank to about 95% and run the engine 5 minutes so treated gas gets through the fuel system.
• 303 Marine Aerospace Protectant, 16 oz. UV protection for vinyl seats, rubber, plastic, finished leather and helmets. Dries to a clear matte finish, not a greasy shine.
• Star brite No Damp Moisture Absorber, 36 oz. Pulls moisture out of the air with no power. Set it inside your shelter or garage and pour out the water it collects.
• 303 Mold & Mildew Stain Remover, 16 oz. No bleach. Safe on vinyl, plastic, painted surfaces and fabric.

One warning: the liquid No Damp collects will damage leather and wood, so keep it level and away from leather seats and saddlebags.

What do I need to winterize a motorcycle?
At minimum: something for the fuel, something for the vinyl and plastics, and a way to keep damp air down. This kit has STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer, 303 Aerospace Protectant, a Star brite No Damp absorber and 303 Mold & Mildew Stain Remover. Add a battery maintainer if you have an outlet nearby.

How much gas will the fuel stabilizer in this kit treat?
The kit’s 10 oz bottle of STA-BIL Storage treats 25 gallons, at 1 oz per 2.5 gallons. That covers several fill-ups on most bikes. Add it to fresh gas, fill the tank to about 95% and run the engine 5 minutes.

Can I put the moisture absorber right next to my bike?
Yes, but keep it level and away from the seat and saddlebags. The liquid No Damp collects damages leather and wood. Set it on the floor of your shelter or garage and pour off the water now and then.
