STA-BIL Rust Stopper – 12oz

SKU CWR-76929 Category Brand:

$13.99

A spray-on coating that keeps rust off exposed metal on a stored bike, trailer, hitch or tools, and frees up sticky pivots.

Ships separately from shelter orders.

Ships by ground to the lower 48 US states only.

Description

Bare metal can start rusting within weeks of exposure. STA-BIL Rust Stopper leaves a long-lasting, water-resistant film on metal surfaces that keeps rust and corrosion from forming, and it stops rust that’s already started.

motorcycle in the snow, time to winterize

Think about the metal on and around a bike that sits all winter: brackets, bolts, a trailer, the hitch, the tie-down points, tools in the garage. Spray them before storage and they come out the way they went in.

  • Protects interior and exterior metal surfaces.
  • Water resistant, so rain and splash don’t wash it off and leave streaky, uneven corrosion.
  • Lubricates and penetrates to stop squeaks and sticking at joints and pivot points.
  • Made in the USA. 12 oz aerosol.

How to apply: shake well. Hold it two to three inches from the surface and sweep back and forth for an even coat.

Know what you’re spraying. The film is meant to stay. Getting it off takes a 1,000 to 3,000 psi cold-water pressure wash, a warm-water detergent wash or a commercial biodegradable cleaner. So keep it off brake discs, tires, the seat and anything you don’t want coated.

A stored bike rusts less when it’s dry to begin with. See our guide to outdoor motorcycle storage without a garage.

Can I spray Rust Stopper on my motorcycle?
Use it on exposed bare metal that needs rust protection, such as bolts, brackets and tools. STA-BIL says it leaves a long-lasting, water-resistant film and keeps joints and pivots moving freely. Keep it off brakes and tires.

Does STA-BIL Rust Stopper stop rust that’s already there?
STA-BIL says it stops existing rust and leaves a protective coating in its place. It also prevents new rust and corrosion on interior and exterior metal.

How do I remove Rust Stopper?
STA-BIL recommends a cold-water pressure wash at 1,000-3,000 psi, a warm-water detergent wash, or a commercial biodegradable cleaner. Plan for that before you spray it near anything you’ll want clean again.
