Vexilar Digital Automatic Battery Charger, 1 Amp

Straight answer first: this is Vexilar’s charger for its fish-finder battery packs, but it comes with gator clips, so it also works as a universal 12V battery maintainer on other batteries.

It’s fully automatic. It brings the battery up to full with 3-stage charging, then drops to float mode and holds it there until you’re ready to ride or fish. It won’t overcharge. Colored LEDs show what mode it’s in.

Vexilar puts it plainly: storage is the hardest part of a battery’s life. Left alone, a battery can sulfate and be dead when you need it. Hook this up and you skip the monthly charge-it-yourself routine.

Will the Vexilar charger work on a motorcycle battery?
It works on any 12V battery using the included gator clips. It’s built for Vexilar fish-finder packs with a quick connect, but the clips let you use it as a universal 12V maintainer.

Can I leave the Vexilar charger connected all winter?
Yes, that’s what float mode is for. Once the battery is full it switches to float and holds it at full charge, and Vexilar says it won’t overcharge. Connect it and forget it.

How do I know when the battery is charged?
Watch the colored LEDs. They show which charge mode it’s in across the 3-stage cycle. It puts out 1 amp at 12V and runs on 100 to 240V AC.
