The rules for buying from us and using our site, in plain English. If something here doesn't make sense, email us and the family that runs the business will write back.
Last updated: November 1, 2026
These terms apply when you use speedwayshelters.com or buy from us, whether online, by email, by phone, or by invoice. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them. "We," "us," and "our" mean Speedway Shelters, a family-owned business based in Soquel, California. "You" means the person using the site or buying from us. You must be an adult who can legally enter into a contract to place an order. Our Privacy Policy and Warranty, Care & Returns page are part of these terms.
Your order is an offer to buy. Your order confirmation email means we received it. The sale is accepted when we ship it or otherwise confirm it. We can decline or cancel an order, for example if an item isn't available, the listing has an error, or the order looks fraudulent. If we do, we'll refund whatever you paid for the part we can't fill.
We try to show products, sizes, and fit accurately. Please check the measurements against your own bike or vehicle before you order. Photos show typical setups, and colors can look different on your screen.
Prices are in US dollars and can change at any time. The price that applies is the one shown when you place your order. Sale prices and coupon codes are good only on the terms and dates we state, and can't be applied to past orders unless we say so.
If a price or description is plainly wrong, we can correct it. If you already ordered, we'll contact you, and you can accept the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
We take payment through Stripe and PayPal at checkout, and through PayPal invoices for some orders. If you choose Affirm, approval and your payment plan are between you and Affirm under its own terms. Payment is due in full before we ship, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
If you think a charge is wrong, please email us first. We can usually fix it faster than a bank dispute can.
We ship across the USA and to Canadian provinces by UPS. Shipping is calculated at checkout from UPS rates for your box's weight and destination. For anywhere else, email us for a custom quote. Please check your address before you order. If a box comes back because of a wrong address or a refused delivery, you pay the shipping both ways, and our return terms apply.
Ship times and carrier delivery times are estimates, not promises. If we can't ship within the time we told you, or within 30 days if we didn't give a time, we'll let you know, and you can cancel the unshipped order for a full refund.
You pay any sales tax that applies, which we add at checkout. On orders outside the US, you are the importer. UPS may collect duties, brokerage fees, and GST/HST on delivery. Those charges are yours, and we don't refund them.
As far as the law allows, ownership and the risk of loss pass to you when we hand your order to the carrier. We don't run the carrier, and we can't control what happens to a box once it leaves our shop. If your box goes missing or arrives damaged, email us right away with your order number and photos of the box and the damage, and keep the packaging. We'll open a claim with the carrier and work with you on it.
Please inspect your order when it arrives. A part that's defective or bent can also be covered by our warranty, described below.
To cancel an order that hasn't shipped, email us as soon as you can. We'll refund it in full if we can stop it. Once it has shipped, it's a return.
You have 31 days to return a product. Get a Return Authorization number from us before you send anything back, and include a copy of your purchase receipt. For a change-of-mind return, a 15% restocking fee applies, and all shipping is the customer's responsibility, both ways. Items should come back complete and in resalable condition, and we can deduct for missing parts or damage. Defective or wrong items aren't charged the restocking fee. If you paid with Affirm or another payment plan, your refund goes back through that provider. Full steps are on our Warranty, Care & Returns page.
Every part of the steel frame is covered against manufacturing defects or damage for ten years from the original purchase date, for the original owner. If one or two frame parts get bent or damaged from use, we'll replace them free of charge, and you cover shipping. The entire shelter carries a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Normal fading of the fabric cover, and damage caused by neglect, abuse, or improper use, aren't covered. See our Warranty, Care & Returns page for how to make a claim. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
Follow the assembly and care instructions, and anchor your shelter to a solid surface. You're responsible for choosing a suitable spot, and for any permits, HOA rules, park rules, or lease rules where you put it. A shelter reduces exposure to weather and helps keep a bike out of sight, but it isn't insurance and can't guarantee against theft, storms, falling objects, or other damage. Keep your own insurance on what you store inside. Never run an engine inside a closed shelter, and let hot exhaust and engine parts cool before closing it.
If you email or otherwise send us a photo or video of your product, or a review or story about it, you give Speedway Shelters the right to reuse it. That means a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, ongoing permission to use, copy, edit, crop, and publish it, along with anything it shows, on our website, in our emails, ads, and social media, and for other promotional purposes, without payment. You still own your work. By sending it, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that anyone recognizable in it is OK with this. We don't have to use it. If you'd like something taken down, email us and we'll remove it from our website.
Please be honest in reviews, and don't send anything unlawful or anything that belongs to someone else without their permission. We can decline or remove content that breaks these rules. We don't remove a genuine review because it's negative.
The words, photos, videos, designs, and logos on this site belong to Speedway Shelters or the people who licensed them to us. You can view and share our pages for personal use. Please don't copy or resell them for commercial use without our written OK. Don't try to break into the site, disrupt it, scrape it in bulk, or use it for fraud or anything unlawful.
Links to other sites are there for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them. Our Dealer and Affiliate programs have their own terms.
Apart from our written warranty and anything the law requires, our website is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, any implied warranties on our products, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, last only as long as the written warranty that applies. Some states don't allow limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limit may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including damage to or loss of a vehicle or other items stored in or near a shelter, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product involved.
Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for injury caused by our negligence, or your rights under consumer protection laws that can't be waived. Some states and provinces don't allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems get solved that way. California law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any court case goes in the state or federal courts for Santa Cruz County, California, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring it where you live. Either of us can use small claims court for a claim that qualifies.
We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. The terms in place when you placed your order apply to that order. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term once, we can still enforce it later. These terms, with the pages they name, are the full agreement between us about your purchase and use of the site, and you can't transfer your rights under them without our OK, except as the law allows.
