Snowblower Storage Shed: Dry, Locked, and Ready to Go

No room in the garage? A Speedway Shelter is a lockable, waterproof storage shed for your snow blower on a 16-gauge steel frame. Lift the cover, roll the blower out, and start clearing. It sets up in about 30 minutes and holds 150+ lbs of snow.

A Garage for Your Snow Blower, Without the Garage

Your snow blower sits idle most of the year, and that's when rust, sun, and thieves get to it. Here's what a shelter fixes.

Out of the Weather, All Year

Snow, rain, and summer sun stay off your blower. The cover is waterproof and UV-coated, and the vent window lets moisture out so metal parts don't sit damp in storage.

Ready the Moment It Snows

No digging it out from behind the mower and the bikes. The clamshell cover lifts by hand, so you roll the blower straight out and get to work, then roll it back in when you're done.

Locked and Out of Sight

Built-in locking hardware lets you padlock the shelter closed (lock not included), so your blower isn't sitting out in the open for anyone to wheel away.

Which Shelter Fits Your Snow Blower?

The Sport Shelter fits most walk-behind snow blowers, with room left over for shovels and a salt spreader. Extra-wide two-stage machines, ride-on snow blowers, and small tractors need the Touring or Deluxe.

How to measure: take the overall width (usually a few inches wider than the clearing width once you count the auger housing), the length with the handles up, and the height to the top of the chute. Then compare with the inside sizes below.

How to Store a Snow Blower for the Summer

A few minutes of prep in spring means your blower starts on the first pull next winter. Always follow your owner's manual for your model.

01

Deal With the Fuel

Add fuel stabilizer and run the engine for a few minutes, or run the tank dry, so old gas doesn't gum up the carburetor over the summer.

02

Change the Oil

Used oil holds moisture and acids. Fresh oil before storage protects a gas engine while it sits for months.

03

Clean Off the Salt

Rinse or wipe road salt and grime off the auger, housing, and chute, then let everything dry completely before you put it away.

04

Check the Wear Parts

Look over the shear pins, belts, scraper bar, and skid shoes now, so you can order parts before the first storm instead of during it.

05

Bring Batteries Inside

For a battery-powered blower, store the batteries indoors at room temperature, charged the way the maker recommends.

06

Cover It, but Let It Breathe

A tarp traps condensation against the metal. A vented shelter keeps sun and rain off while air moves through, and a rubber floor keeps it off damp ground.

Snow blower storage FAQ

Questions About Storing a Snow Blower Outside

Can you store a snow blower outside?

Yes, as long as it's covered and moisture can escape. A tarp or slip-on cover traps condensation against the metal, which leads to rust. A vented, waterproof shelter like a Speedway Shelter keeps snow, rain, and sun off the blower while letting moisture out, and it locks.

What size shed do I need for a snow blower?

Measure the blower's overall width, its length with the handles up, and its height to the top of the chute. The Sport Shelter (108 × 43 × 65.75 in. inside) fits most walk-behind snow blowers. Choose the Touring (136 × 54 in.) or Deluxe (138 × 78 in.) for extra-wide two-stage machines, ride-on snow blowers, or small tractors.

How do you store a snow blower in the summer?

Stabilize or drain the fuel, change the oil, clean off road salt and let it dry, and check the shear pins and belts. Then keep it somewhere dry and covered with some airflow, not wrapped in a tarp. Always follow your owner's manual.

Will the shelter hold up to heavy snow?

The Speedway Shelter's 16-gauge steel frame supports over 150 pounds of snow. It bolts to concrete, asphalt, or a wooden base with the included anchor bolts, and side tie-downs keep it secure in high winds.

How long does the shelter take to set up?

Most people finish in 20 to 30 minutes with one person. You can watch the full assembly on our Videos page.
